2010 New Years Resolution Top 10

About.com, polled its visitors and posted their "TOP 10 New Years Resolutions". Does your new year resolution make the list? if it does I have included some scriptures that can possibly help you achieve your goal throughout the new year (statistically speaking the average new year's resolution is kept for no more than 2 weeks)

1. Spend More Time with Family & Friends

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together
(commit to spending more time fellowshipping with believers if you don't go to church, start going to church, if you have begun going to church go more, if you go a lot, find time to fellowship with believers outside of church)

2. Fit in Fitness
Ephesians 4:15,16
but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
(Not only do we want our physical bodies to be healthy, we should consider our spiritual body at large the church...)

3. Tame the Bulge

(We must resolve to deal with sin in our lives, even the littlest bit lingering around can affect our lives physically and spiritually )

4. Quit Smoking

(Remembering that we should have a desire for purity, and holiness)

5. Enjoy Life More

(There is no greater way to enjoy life than by getting face time in the presence of God, seeing Him for who he is, shines the light brighter on a darkened world)

6. Quit Drinking

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit...
( Excessive drinking leads to less of a relationship with our Lord and a diluted fellowship with the saints)

7. Get Out of Debt
Romans 13:8 NKJ
Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
(Use wisdom over your finances, and in your cutting back on pleasurable expenses give some of that over to the Lord, increase your tithe's and offerings we shouldn't respond to economic situations the way the world does, we need to be thankful and give more to God)

9. Help Others

(imagine being able to shoulder or lift the weight off of another, pray that the Lord would open doors for oppornities not only to be blessed but to be a blessing in the name of the Lord)

10. Get Organized

(Disorganazation often times is a sign of depression, it is a lack of caring... get organized clean the clutter, everything has a place)
